# Gunnar Griese – Signal Engineering & Measurement Infrastructure > Independent measurement practitioner specializing in Signal Engineering, server-side tracking, and warehouse-native pipelines for marketing, MarTech, and analytics teams. Based in Copenhagen, working with 8-bit-sheep. Google Cloud Certified Professional Data Engineer. ## About Gunnar Griese is an independent measurement practitioner who works with in-house teams as an embedded engineer — designing event schemas, building warehouse-native pipelines, and shipping the infrastructure that turns user behavior into decision-ready signals. His methodology, Signal Engineering, moves teams from basic conversion measurement to layered systems: event design with contracts, server-side enrichment, warehouse pipelines, and value-based signals fed back into activation. He teaches Technical Digital Analytics at IHM Business School and co-organizes Kodbyen AI Sessions in Copenhagen. ## Key Pages - [Home](https://gunnargriese.com/): Signal Engineering methodology, embedded delivery model, and client proof - [Services](https://gunnargriese.com/services/): Signal Design & Implementation, Measurement Infrastructure, Advisory & Training - [About](https://gunnargriese.com/about/): Measurement philosophy, background, and credentials - [Blog](https://gunnargriese.com/blog/): Technical articles on measurement infrastructure and Signal Engineering - [Contact](https://gunnargriese.com/contact/): Engagement options and FAQ ## Blog Posts - [Automating GTM Server-Side Container Updates on Cloud Run](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/automating-gtm-server-side-container-updates/): Automating sGTM container updates with Cloud Run - [Google Analytics CLI](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/google-analytics-cli/): CLI tooling for Google Analytics management - [Conversational Analytics for Google Analytics Data with BigQuery Agents](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/conversational-analytics/): Using BigQuery Data Agents and the Conversational Analytics API to build AI-powered chat interfaces for GA data - [Open-Source Server-Side Tag Management and Data Pipelines](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/open-source-tag-management/): Exploring open-source alternatives to GTM server-side - [GTM Server-Side Data Residency](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/regional-gtm-server-side-infrastructure/): Regional load balancers and Cloud DNS geo-routing for data residency compliance - [Moving Beyond Basic Conversion Tracking](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/moving-beyond-basic-conversion-tracking/): Engineering signals for sustainable marketing advantage - [MCP Servers in Digital Analytics](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/mcp-servers-in-digital-analytics/): Levelling up your LLM game with Model Context Protocol - [Server-Side Data Enrichment for GA4](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/server-side-data-collection-ga4/): Server-side data collection and enrichment patterns - [GTM Server-Side Pantheon Part 4 – Bringing AI to sGTM](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/gtm-server-side-vertex-ai/): Integrating Vertex AI with server-side GTM - [GTM Server-Side Use Cases](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/gtm-server-side-use-cases/): Building a digital command center with server-side tagging - [GTM Server-Side Pantheon Part 3 – Google Sheets & BigQuery](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/gtm-server-side-bigquery-google-sheets/): Integrating marketer-friendly tools with sGTM - [GTM Server-Side Pantheon Part 2 – Pub/Sub](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/gtm-server-side-pubsub-integration/): Supercharging GTM server-side with Pub/Sub messaging - [Confidential Matching](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/confidential-matching/): Privacy-conscious advertising with Google's Confidential Matching - [GTM Server-Side Pantheon Part 1 – Firestore](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/gtm-server-side-firestore-integrations/): Tapping into the power of Firestore for server-side tagging - [User IDs in GA4](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/ga4-reporting-identity/): Understanding reporting identity and user identification - [Ensuring Data Quality for GA4 at Scale](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/ga4-data-quality-at-scale/): Data quality monitoring with Google Cloud Platform - [Mapping GA4 Conversions in BigQuery](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/ga4-conversions-to-bigquery/): Comprehensive dashboarding with BigQuery - [Consent Mode v2](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/consent-mode-v2/): A comprehensive technical guide to Google's Consent Mode - [GA4 Client-Side Data Redaction](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/ga4-data-redaction/): Removing PII from data before collection - [GA4 – The CDP You Didn't Know You Had](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/ga4-the-cdp-you-didnt-know-you-had/): Using GA4 as a customer data platform - [GA4 Time Travel](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/ga4-time-travel-bridging-utc-and-local-timezones/): Bridging UTC and local timezones in GA4 - [Debugging Firebase Analytics](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/firebase-analytics-debugging/): A guide for beginners on mobile app analytics debugging - [PostHog with Google Tag Manager](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/posthog-gtm-template/): Unleashing PostHog analytics through GTM - [BigQuery Path Exploration](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/bigquery-path-exploration/): Replicating GA4 path exploration reports with SQL - [GTM Server-Side Tagging](https://gunnargriese.com/posts/gtm-server-side/): Better data and more control with server-side tagging ## Topics Signal Engineering, measurement infrastructure, Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, server-side tagging, BigQuery, Dataform, Google Cloud Platform, data engineering, marketing measurement, privacy, consent management, data quality, conversational AI, value-based bidding
